Hi guys,
I was using Free File Viewr to D\L yoer bewt mods but it started going awry the other day, i Del'd it & would love ur input on the best .pak\.RAR viewer to install & get some more juicy Mods .

1\ Have D\Led winRAR & 7zip but neither had ,pak extractores? (Unless .pak &.RAR are one & the same Yes\No.)
2\ winRAR said about trial period, I went to the home page but they just want me to buy, buy, buy. How ;ong's the trial period?
3\ & to answer 1of my own questions I'll try to D\L a .pak file, now

Did a bit digging & if I delete .pak extension & put .zip or .rar it will work. so in answer to my question, am I correct???????

Yeah, me again.
tried Deleting exe's .Pak & subbing .zip or .rar & it doesn't work.
I installed WinRAR & 7Zip (Win7 has pre-installed win.zip) so I deleted 7zip.
I can extract .RAR & .Zip files.
I still can't Unpack .PAK files & I've tried 4or5 differemt products now, I'm tired of all the testing, etc.
What's your recommendation for a top extractor for .PAK files?

what spore files end in .pak?

i know the ones ending in .package, and in that case, use Sporemaster 2.0

Sorry, when i wrote, .Pak I was refering to .package, my gaff! But I still can't unpack .package files with WinRAR or 7zip.
1- So if you could suggest the best to do the job, I would be grateful. All the searchs, D\L's, testing & Deleting is making me bald prematurely.
2- Ahhh! That brings me to the question I wanted to ask?
3- Do File Folders go in the same Spore_EP1\Data file with all the other mods, too?
Not meaning to be a pest, just cautiuos, repairs are costly when I muck-up

Oh! Sorry, I didn't know what you meant. You can download spore master to open .package files.

I now have the downloading under control but one question remains! ( I hope this is not "bumping" )

Where do File Folders go?
With the package files?

To run package files, simply remove the package files from the folder, and place them in program files/electronic arts/spore_ep1/data Folder and then run spore to see it take effect.
