replacing starter Cells?

Questions seeking answers can be found here, someone else may have had the same issue and might have a solution.

replacing starter Cells?

I heard you can replace the Cell's you start when you start a new game, I would really want to know how to do it! :?: I want to replace one of the starter Cell's with the Grox Cell :D

I did find the cell files some where in the game, I tried replacing the .cell files, but that just deleted them. The cells that you want to replace are named after the cells ingame, but I can't check where they are at the moment.
Spore is creative, even the mods and hacks.
Or, should I say, especially the mods and hacks?

I looked everywhere on the download page and I don't see the play as an epic cell mod

By the way, found the gge file for cell stage that defines how it is started, by not allowing you to choose creatures and forcing you to choose a diet, but upon packing the mod with changes, the mod didn't take effect. It may have to do with the priorities of load order.

i dont think it has to do with load order. i generally name my mods starting with the year. 2013DavoBlah.package...
so it loads up first... however, i never try on core spore...

open up sporemaster, search for ".png"
find an image of a creature you like...
copy all of the files with the same names.

now search for "bawb" or "neutralcell"
rename all of the files you copied to one of these and replace them.
pack and play.

these are the simplest of instructions, but the work and if you cannot figure this out, then you need to not mod and learn a little more about what it is you are doing...

what should I unpack though? when I try to unpack any of spore's files example: spore_graphics.package i get an error saying that "sporemaster is not responding"

The (not responding) is usually a cruel misconception of the computers thinking that sporemaster is stuck or frozen while working to unpack a mod. In truth, it is not responding, but it is not because of a drastic overflow or an error, its because its busy and doesn't want you interfering. Sporemaster just keeps working, so don't exit out of it too soon.
