More Save Game Planet Types

Unread post by Bakubread »

I made this same post a while back but it was unfortunately swept away (along with my account) in the database shenanigans.

I have always wanted to be able to choose different planet types when creating a save game in spore. You see T3 planets in space stage that only have one massive continent, ones that have no oceans but lakes all over the place, etc, yet whenever you make a new save you get virtually the same arrangement of landmasses, two big continents and a bunch of ocean. MAYBE a third smaller continent if you're incredibly lucky. Would it be possible or even difficult to allow other planet types to appear as new save game planets? I would love that.

There already are tons of different save game planet types - the problem is that outside of the rocks that appear, they're incredibly similar.

A mod that makes the different types more unique would be possible, but not easy - you'd need to create new planets to replace the original ones with through the use of SporeModder FX, a hex editor and the Adventure Editor. Even with the adventure editor being used as a terrain editor, it'll still be stupidly time-consuming.
Hello there! I'm a random guy who sometimes does *slightly* smart stuff. I do a lot of random Spore shenanigans, too.

Feel free to build off my open-source mods, but please don't add them to modpacks; it could cause compatability issues.
