Cell spine shortening-elongating?

NOTE: While the Spore ModAPI has empowered mod developers like never before, our ability to add "new" functionality still has its limits, so if there's nothing in Spore that can already do it, we may not be able to either. Nothing is lost in asking, but don't get your hopes up, especially not for anything really big.

Cell spine shortening-elongating?

Ok, so i have an idea for a mod.

In this mod, you can make the cell spine different sizes, from 3 joints to 10, instead of the usual "only 6 joints."
By joints, i mean spinal bone part thingies.

BUT, unlike any other mod which makes the spine adjustable to different sizes, the user can't bend it, and the result will remind of some Maxis cells, like Ducky, Pinky, or any other one that has a bit shorter or longer body.
Sadly, i am too lasy to make a mock up but it will look something like a normal cell editor with these pointers that change the cell's lenght.

Probably this forum thread will be noticed :shock:

I think I get what you mean. Mostly doable. Also the word you're looking for is "vertebrae" :lol:

Problems:
-Minimum and Maximum numbers of vertebrae can't be changed from those of the creature editor (2 - 20, IIRC)
-Vertebra repositioning can't be disabled separately (though it'd be hard, if not impossible, to do so, thanks to the turntable camera)

Pretty much OK with me. Sadly, vertebrae repositioning :(
Is vertebrae repositioning like moving the spine in creature editor? Or just moving the body itself?
Hoo boy, sure do i love the cell stage.

Both. I might be able to shrink the editor bounds to prevent the vertebrae from moving too far, though...maybe...

Well, as a thanks for making the mod, i will give you part ideas for :sr:.
Let me just digitalize it for a sec...

Also, i just want the spine to be ONLY expandable, that's it.
