Please keep in mind that if your request is not granted immediately, that doesn't mean it never will be. Sooner or later, someone may well pop in and try to make it happen. Patience is a virtue. Just...don't go around begging and annoying people over it.
Additionally, be aware that while the Spore ModAPI has empowered mod developers like never before, our ability to add "new" functionality still has its limits, so if there's nothing in Spore that can already do it, we may not be able to either. Nothing is lost in asking, but don't get your hopes up, especially not for anything really big.

Adding spine bits to the parts list
This is really weird, but I still want it. Being one who loves to mess with the game, I'd love to be able to place new spines through the menu, which should be possible, seeing as the "vertebra" are classified in the game packages as a part. Imagine making multi-spined creatures o.0 Another thing I'd like to see alongside this would be the ability to sell old spines (I'm not sure if this is possible, but I could swear I've heard stories of it being done before). So, can it be done?
Re: Adding spine bits to the parts list
Vertebras being listed as a "part" doesn't mean it's possible. It can be put as a part, yes (at least exporting it as a new model), but I doubt it will generate a new spine with new muscles where you put it.

Re: Adding spine bits to the parts list
This has already been done in CamBen's custom parts pack, but it doesn't work at all as you'd expect it to.

You mean the part that makes the creature all squiggly?rob55rod wrote:This has already been done in CamBen's custom parts pack, but it doesn't work at all as you'd expect it to.

Re: Adding spine bits to the parts list
Aww... I guess I shouldn't have expected too much, the spines seem pretty deeply built in to the creature editor, anyway. Thanks for the clarification!
Re: Adding spine bits to the parts list
But, what does making a spine squiggly have to do with making it longer?
Re: Adding spine bits to the parts list
Nothing! The point was to make a new separate spine, not add another vertebra to the existing one! You can already do that! Besides, it doesn't matter, any way, the aforementioned behavior is caused by unexplainable glitches generated by improperly placed vertebra.
