A viviparity mod?

A viviparity mod?

Unread post by raycarter11 »

So far I'm really satisfied with all the revolutionary mods made by all the talented modders, such as Dark Injection Mod, Better Spore Mod, Platinum Spore Mod, and so forth; however there's one thing that has been always bugging me - my creature lays eggs. When playing SPORE, I always love to imagine that the creature I create is step-by-step becoming the most evolved species, and will be the most advanced race in the SPORE universe, with every technology in the universe stage unlocked, playing the role as the "God species" in the game, travelling around in the space, enlightening civilization that is still developing, researching everything, destroying species if necessary; BUT, all these fantasies are **BOOMED**, crushed, when I see my cutie animals lay eggs - well you know, they are just oviparous.

Is it possible to make a mod turning the played creature into something viviparous? Maybe replace the laid egg with a simple, small, embryo-looking thing? I'm no modder, knowing nothing about coding, so I don't know if this is possible. Could someone make a mod like this?

Anyone, please?

We can "delete" the egg model, if you want.

Yes, as emd said you can delete the egg. Also in the trigger files, you can probably delete the delay on the birth, so it looks like it actually is a live birth.
Spore is creative, even the mods and hacks.

The bad thing on delete the egg is on the other animals nest. You will eat invisible things.....

Yeah, after saying "yes that sounds great" to you, sometime later last night this occurred to me. My original hope was that maybe SPORE used separated models of eggs which were sorted into two categories, one for the played creature and the other for all the NPCs, but now apparently it doesn't. So ... is it possible to replace the egg models with something else? I'd say anything else that isn't an egg would be really good enough; although it pretty much needs to be an orb-shaped thing because in the Tribal Stage it has to roll out from the happy-time hut.

We can replace it with another model. It will roll too, because it will use the same collision mask.

No, because we didn't say what will replace the egg.

You could use a fruit model. Then it would look like creatures were gathering food for their nest.

Sorry I forgot about the replacement. lol

Um, could the replacement be an embryo-looking model? The model doesn't need to look complicated, as long as one can pretty much tell it's an embryo sorta thing. I don't know if this is difficult to do though.

There aren't really embryo models in spore...

Maybe we can use some of the MAXIS's simplest-looking creature models to replace the eggs? By "simplest-looking", I mean like ... no legs, no arms, just eyes and mouth; anyway the simpler the better because it would sorta project an image of an embryo or an infant animal. Are creature models made by MAXIS in game already?

I can try the embryo thing. But I need some models.

The problem is I know nothing about coding, and have no idea about making models either ...
