Additionally, be aware that while the Spore ModAPI has empowered mod developers like never before, our ability to add "new" functionality still has its limits, so if there's nothing in Spore that can already do it, we may not be able to either. Nothing is lost in asking, but don't get your hopes up, especially not for anything really big.

Change the run animation
A long time ago, when the spore creature creator was first released, creatures with 4 legs had a different running animation that looked much more realistic. Just by chance, I had saved a clip of this animation before I had installed the full spore game. (please excuse the giant crappy watermark, you can still see what I'm talking about)
What I'm asking is: would it be possible to take the running animation from the creature creature and use it in the full game? I think it would look way better then the sped-up walking animation that the game has now. Considering people have been able to import things form similar games such as darkspore, I don't think such a thing should be completely impossible.
(again, sorry about that stupid watermark, i just didn't feel like uploading 5 second clip to youtube)

to do so would mean i would either need the .package files from the game or i would have to uninstall spore to get them

Yeah, I've been trying find how to download those files all day. The best bet is to just install the creature creator on a different computer. I'll post them here if I ever get my hands on it.

This topic is almost a month old, but I feel I must post about it:
This is truly something that have been bothering me since Spore came out... I loved the animations of the standalone creature editor: the biped, quadruped an tripod gaits were much much better- both walking and running. The full game on the other hand have excelent monopod and multi-legged gaits, that should be left untouched.
Anyway, getting the package files from Creature Creator... Can't you just get them out of the CD? It's actually not necessary at all to install it to get them, the files are all there (I know so because just recently I had to reinstall Spore and installed CC to relive the old animations...gah)
If someone make a mod out of this just please let me know!

They aren't really that big, but it was a pain trying to upload all three into a single 200 mb zip with my lousy internet so I had to upload them separately...

Ok I've looked through everything. I'm pretty sure that the key is to change the ".gait" files.
Looking at the CSA_main package and the Spore_game package, I can see that the file size on the .gait files are different, so something has been changed.
In the CSA packages, the code is readable and editable.
Example:
Unfortunately in the full spore package, the code is just a bunch of computer gibberish that's impossible to work with.

I was doing this in a mod format. When you click on the newer .gait files in sporemaster, you just get a bunch of weird symbols rather then any real information.

megaupload is gone, so if you want the mod it pretty much calls for a reupload.
Spore is creative, even the mods and hacks.
