Thanks Davo. Worked like a charm in the GOG version, but with the GOG version I did the edits in the DataEP1\Config folder.
I didn't try it in the Data\Config folder since your instructions did mention EP1.

I just got Spore a couple days ago from GOG, which came with the 2 expansions, and is shown as Version 3.1.0.22.
Is this Patch 5 an official patch, or a user created patch?
